The Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series showcases the best of short films from all over the world. The Screening Series is held every Thursday night starting June 9 and ending Sunday, August 28 with the Gala Finale. The screenings are outdoors in our natural amphitheatre, under the towering redwoods at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur, using state-of-the-art digital equipment. This is one of the most beautiful venues in the world to view film.
We manage to maintain worldwide attention as the foremost resource for the works and art of Henry Miller, which helps to lend much inspiration, and attention, to our International Short Film Screening Series.
We are gratefully welcoming help from several friends of the Henry Miller Library that are especially well suited to serve as jury for our film series.

We are interested in films that are bold and uncensored, films that invite us into your world, that will shock us, madden us, make us cry and laugh, films with moments that are especially lovely, serendipitous, interesting, candid or moving.
There is no particular theme and the only restriction is that your film cannot have been shown in our series before. No fees. No limits on year of production. Because good films remain good regardless of when they were made.
We like brilliantly crafted stories.

The Big Sur Short Film Screening Series is produced by the Henry Miller Memorial Library and since both Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin worked with erotic and sexual subjects, our series welcomes the presentation of frank sexuality as long as it is intrinsic to a film/story.
